Professional Journey
Janice Lee Juvrud is a healthcare system advisor, educator, and dedicated patient advocate with a diverse background in hospital culture improvement, leadership development, and family-centered care models. Throughout her career, she has focused on developing strategies that enhance communication between frontline clinical providers, administrators, and the families they care for.
Janice's extensive work in institutional patient advocacy includes serving as a Council Member on the Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. In this role, she collaborated closely with physicians, staff, and hospital leadership to shape organizational policy, support intern communication programs, and design strategic initiatives aimed at elevating HCAHPS patient satisfaction metrics. Her thought leadership earned her the opportunity to represent the hospital network at the national Beryl Institute conference, where she delivered insights on "Experience-Based Co-Design" and authored features on compassionate care systems.
Her clinical advisory experience also spans the digital health frontier. As a Family Advisor for the Kyruus care access platform, she worked to ensure the unique attributes, voices, and practical needs of families are accurately represented in patient-facing digital tools. A natural educator, Janice previously served as a Staff Educator at Valley Hospital in New Jersey, where she facilitated specialized communication workshops for staff and designed leadership frameworks for over 50 hospital executives, a contribution that earned her three executive-awarded "Service Excellence" honors.
Complementing her corporate and hospital experience, Janice spent six years authoring a highly impactful caregiving and advocacy journal that reached over 15,000 readers globally. Armed with this powerful combination of professional system design, educational expertise, and deep personal insight, she provides the CaPER Global Insight Circle with essential frameworks for keeping human experiences at the center of medical analytics.
